Miranda Nickleby is a sleazy woman who wants money from April Malloy. She told her a story saying her husband, Paul (dead now), cheated on her. She has a son, Scottie, who is biracial, presumably because Miranda and Paul made him, if the story is true. However, there's a greater possibility the story was completely fabricated, and that Miranda is a con artist.
s1 e8- April comes to find out that Miranda and Paul had been lying the entire time. Paul shows up alive on aprils doorstep putting a stop to Miranda’s scam. Paul explains he faked his death and has been living with Miranda and Scottie the entire time. He explains he didn’t know Miranda came to find April and to extort her for money but puts a stop to it.
She is played by Kate Beahan.
